Miami-Dade County Clerk of Court’s Office Begins Online Tax Deed Sales

 May 20th, 2013

Miami, FL – The Honorable Harvey Ruvin, Miami-Dade County Clerk of Courts, is pleased to announce that beginning in May of 2013, tax deed sales will be taking place online.  In addition to going on-line with tax deeds, the Clerk is also upgrading their tax deed management software which will significantly increase office efficiency and allow greater access to all those involved in the process.

“Three years ago we launched online foreclosure sales in Miami-Dade County with great success,” says Ruvin. “We cleared our backlog, increased our efficiency, while greatly reducing our administrative costs. Now it’s time to do the same with tax deed sales.”  By going online, more bidders will able to be a part of the process because they can participate from the comfort of their own homes, office, public computer, or library, instead of having to attend the sales in person at the courthouse.  This will also allow bidders from around the world the opportunity to place bids.

Beginning now, interested parties can register, place bids, and participate in the online tax deed sale process by visiting the website at www.miami-dade.realtaxdeed.com.  Realauction, the selected online tax deed vendor, will conduct training and orientation sessions for bidders and provide a toll free number to their customer service team to answer questions during the sales.

“Our new tax deed management system which fully integrates with the online tax deed sale greatly assists my staff in managing and processing cases,” stated Ruvin. “The Clerk’s Office will continue to pursue its goal of providing the taxpayer with significant savings.  We are achieving by serving more and more of our customers “on line” rather than “in line”

Miami-Dade Clerk of Courts’ first online tax deeds sales began on May 7th, 2013.

PLANTATION, Fla., April 26, 2012 — Yesterday, the Federal District Court in Pittsburgh denied a motion for summary judgment that had been filed by Grant Street Group in its patent lawsuit against Realauction.com. By its motion, Grant Street Group had sought to prevent the jury from learning that eBay had an online auction website well before Grant Street Group applied for its patent. Realauction contends that the patent, which relates to online auctions, is invalid in light of prior art such as eBay’s website. “This ruling is significant,” said Realauction CEO Lloyd McClendon, “because when Grant Street Group applied for

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PLANTATION, Fla., November 7th 2011 — The 4th District Court of Appeal reversed a $1.46 million judgment against Plantation-based Realauction.com, finding the facts of the case did not support the tortious interference claim against the company or its chief executive officer, Lloyd McClendon. Grant Street Group, a Pittsburgh-based provider of online auction services, obtained the jury award in a Broward Circuit Court trial in 2009. The company claimed that email statements made by Mr. McClendon to Broward County officials caused it to lose out on a contract to provide online auction services for tax certificates. The 4th
